Vision Board on Board

I discussed my 2011 resolutions in my Time to Start 2011 blog posting a few weeks ago and mentioned I would be putting together a vision board for this. I collated a bunch of old magazines and started looking through for pictures that matched each of my resolutions. I’m not much of a magazine buyer so I didn’t get all the images I wanted from the magazines. I found the rest online and printed them out. Afterwards, I set up a blank poster board in front of me and started sticking pictures and words on them. It took me about 30 minutes and below is the result: -

The picture in the middle is blurred for privacy reasons but it’s of my SO and me. The board as a whole isn’t much to look at compared to some fabulous looking visions boards I’ve seen on the net but the goals are all uniquely mine. I hung it up on the wall opposite my bed so it’s the last thing I see before I go to bed and the first thing I see when I wake up. Everyday when I get home from work, I look at it and ask myself, “What have you done today to move yourself closer to your goals?”

It’s a great motivator and if you have any 2011 or future resolutions/goals/plans, I suggest putting together a vision board. With a perpetual visual reminder, it’s pretty hard to lose sight of the things you’re aiming for.
