So.. er...about Adult Education :)

When I was putting together my New Year resolutions and Vision Board, part of the list was studying for and taking my CMP exam in July. I sent in my application with gusto end of February and received a response that I’d been approved to take the exam a week later. Delighted, I ordered the expensive books and waited for their arrival. Arrive they did 2 weeks later, all 4 of them. Combined, they were bigger than my biology textbooks in school and those books were big! I formed a study group with another individual and also started self-studying but it has been a lot tougher than I anticipated.

I remember when I was a kid I had all the time in the world to study since there was nothing else to do courtesy of my parents. Fast forward to the present, after escaping my 10 - 11 hour days at work, I’m lucky if I can stay awake long enough to cook dinner without burning down my apartment block, let alone bury my head in the pages of books. Yet, I’ve made a commitment to this and knowing myself, I’d rather choke than bail on it but it doesn’t make it any easier.

This right here is why parents sit on your neck as a teenager and make you go to college at the right period in your life. I’m not saying you can’t go to school as an adult but as a working one with killer hours, it requires the strength of Samson, the energy of Paul and the determination of Job. It also requires a few shots of Baileys sometimes :). Enjoy the weekend.
